Front Panel Connections
Noise Source Control (NOISE SOURCE)
The NOISE SOURCE female connector is used to switch an external noise source on and off
in order, for example, to measure the noise figure of DUTs.
Conventional noise sources require a voltage of +28 V in order to be switched on. They are
switched off at 0 V. The female connector supplies these switching voltages. The output
supports a maximum load of 100 mA.
I/Q INPUT (Option R&S FSQ-B71)
The four female connectors at the front panel are provided to connect I/Q sources. An
attenuator to -15 dB is located at the input to prevent overloading of the A/D converter. The
input impedance is switchable from 50

. The maximum input voltage is 30 dBm for

Devices under test, e.g. a complex modulation source, are connected to inputs I INPUT
UNBAL and Q INPUT UNBAL. Differential sources are connected to BAL HIGH and BAL
LOW, the inverted signal is connected to BAL LOW.
