Manual Operation of the R&S FSQ with XP Remote Desktop

6.7.2 Configuring the R&S FSQ for Use of XP Remote Desktop

To enable an external computer to access the Remote Desktop software of the R&S FSQ,
proceed as follows:

1. Determine the IP configuration of the network connection:

Open the Windows XP Start menu with the Windows key or the

CTRL

ESC

key

combination.

➢

Click

Settings - Network Connections - Local Area Connection

The

Local Area Connection Status

dialog box will open.

➢

Click the

Support

tab.

The current TCP/IP configuration will be displayed.
If

Assigned by DHCP

appears in the

Address Type

field, go to step 2 (Create a fixed IP

address...). Otherwise, simply note the IP address and go to step 3 (Enable the
R&S FSQ...).
