●
Min Power
: Assume that AT transmits at its minimum output power (RMS value
≤–
47 dBm; see table below).
●
Autoranging
: Determine the actual peak power of the input signal and set the
input path accordingly.
The "Expected Power Mode" does not affect the actual output power of the AT which is
controlled by the "Reverse Power Control" settings. To avoid overloading/underloading
the RF analyzer (and thus losing the connection), the settings must be compatible.
Some simple examples for compatible combinations are listed below.

Manual Expected Power
Expected absolute input power at the R&S
CMW input connector for "Expected Power
Mode: Manual". Input powers above the "Manual Expected Power" overdrive the input
path and cause invalid results.
Remote command:

Expected Nominal Power
Displays the expected input power that the AT has to transmit. The value depends on
the "Expected Power Mode". The value is displayed for information.
Note that the actual input power at the connectors must be within the level range of the
selected RF input connector; refer to the data sheet.

AWGN Mode
Selects operating mode of the AWGN generator. The AWGN generator provides an
Additional Gaussian White Noise signal which is superimposed to the forward 1xEV-
DO signal. The AWGN contribution represents a controlled impairment of the forward
signal.
The "AWGN Level" range is adjusted to the selected mode.
●
Normal
: appropriate for low and medium AWGN levels; "High Power" mode is
appropriate for high levels. The "AWGN Level" range is adjusted to the selected
mode.
●
High Power
: appropriate for high AWGN levels. It requires option R&S CMW-
KS890.
