Attention!
The maximum input levels and voltages of the input connectors at the front and
rear panel must not be exceeded.
The EXT TRIGGER input connector and pin 2 of the USER CONTROL
connector must never be used simultaneously as inputs for external trigger
signals.
Putting the Instrument into Operation
This section describes the basic steps to be taken when setting up the analyzer for the first time.
Important Note:
Before turning on the instrument, please make sure that the following conditions are
fulfilled:
•
Instrument covers are in place and all fasteners are tightened.
•
Fan openings are free from obstructions.
•
Signal levels at the input connectors are all within the specified maxima.
•
Signal outputs are correctly connected and not overloaded.
•
The instrument is dry and shows no condensation.
Non-observance may cause damage to the instrument!
Unpacking the Instrument and Checking the Shipment
1. Unpack the instrument and the other contents of the shipping container.
2. Check whether (in addition to this manual) the following items are included in the shipment:
•
Vector network analyzer
•
An AC power cable
•
Replacement fuses IEC127 F250L for DC inputs
PORT BIAS

•
A wrist strap and cord for establishing a ground connection of the analyzer (see section
Instrument Setup
below)
3. Remove the two protective caps from the front and rear and carefully inspect the analyzer to
make sure that it was not damaged during shipment.
