Installing/Removing the Hard Drive, Floppy Drive, or Expansion Bay

These instructions describe how to remove the drive bay and replace the
hard drive or floppy drive.
To remove the drive bay:
1.
Disconnect power from the 6181 Computer.
ATTENTION: Disconnect all power from the 6181
Computer before adding or removing components.
Failure to disconnect power could result in severe
electrical shock or damage to the 6181 Computer.
2.
Remove the back cover of the 6181 Computer. Refer to procedures
in Chapter 4 for details on how to remove the back cover.
3.
Remove the drive bay.
4.
Disconnect the ribbon cable connector and the power connector from
the hard drive and floppy drive.
Note:
The replacement drive bay is delivered with new
cables. If you suspect the existing cables may be bad,
use the new cables. Otherwise, you may use the
existing cables.
