Configure for EtherNet/IP Network
Chapter 4
The new configuration is:
A second network with Hosts D and E was added. Gateway G2 connects
Network 2.1 with Network 2.2.
Hosts D and E use Gateway G2 to communicate with hosts not on Network 2.2.
Hosts B and C use Gateway G to communicate with hosts not on Network 2.1.
When B is communicating with D, G (the configured gateway for B) routes the
data from B to D through G2.
Set the Network Address
This code reader ships with DHCP enabled as default. To change the network
address, you must do the following:
1.
Use a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server, such as
Rockwell Automation BootP/DHCP.
2.
Retrieve the IP address from nonvolatile memory.
Use the
Rockwell Automation
BootP/DHCP Utility
The Rockwell Automation BootP/DHCP utility is a standalone program that
incorporates the functionality of standard BootP/DHCP software with a user-
friendly graphical interface. It is in the Utils directory on the Studio 5000
installation CD. The module must have DHCP enabled (factory default and the
network address switches set to an illegal value) to use the utility.
