Troubleshooting
This chapter provides information for troubleshooting the RIO
scanner.
Troubleshooting
The FAULT LED is
off
whenever the scanner is operating properly.
The COMM LED state is valid only when the FAULT LED is off.
When
the scanner’s LEDs change state, use the following table to isolate the
cause.

Enter configuration
information in G file.

configuration.
Check configuration for proper
G file size and settings.

Duplicate node
detected.
Disconnect the RIO link from
the scanner and either cycle
the scanner’s power, or
re-enter the Run mode. Look
for another scanner on the
same network. If the
condition persists, replace the
scanner.
64H
FAULT LED red
Hardware error on
scanner.
Replace scanner.
68H - 6FH
COMM LED off
SLC Processor
powered up in
Program mode.
Return to Run mode.

(2) These conditions do not generate error indications to the SLC processor.
COMM LED
flashing green
A device is not
properly configured,
connected, powered,
or is faulted.
Check the RIO link
connections, power and
switch settings. (A device
may be too large or too small).

flashing red
Scanner is
incorrectly
connected, or all
devices are
incorrectly
configured, have no
power, or are
faulted.
CHeck the RIO link wiring at
the scanner. CHeck device
configurations, power status,
and network baud rate.

Hardware error on
scanner.
Replace scanner.
