7.15 Fire Hazards
Poisonous or carcinogenic substances may result from burning hydraulic oil! As a
rule all fires should only be extinguished with a dry-powder extinguisher.
7.16 Fire Prevention
•
No naked flames or easily flammable materials on or in immediate proximity of
the appliance!
•
Familiarize yourself promptly with the fire prevention regulations and the use of
extinguishers. To do so consult the authorized delegate for fire prevention in
your workplace.
•
Only authorized fire extinguishers (dry extinguishers) of the appropriate fire
prevention class should be used.
•
Fire extinguishers should be checked periodically and labelled with inspection
notices. (Check expiry dates!)
•
Once used, a fire extinguisher should be taken out of service.
