Cleaning the air filter
NOTICE
Risk of damaging the air filter!
If compressed air is used to clean the air filter, the sensitive
filter elements may be destroyed.
Brushing forces the dirt into the fibres.
►
Do not use compressed air to clean or dry the air filter.
►
Do not brush the dirt away.
8. Tap the filter (5) several times on a hard surface to remove
dirt.
9. Foam Element [3]: Wash the element in a solution of
household detergent and warm water, then rinse thorough-
ly, or wash in non-flammable or high flash point solvent. Al-
low the element to dry thoroughly.
10. Soak the element in clean engine oil and squeeze out the
excess oil.
The engine will smoke during initial start-up if too much oil
is left in the foam, or the oil could saturate the paper
element making the engine inoperable.
11. Wipe dirt from the air filter body (6) and cover using a moist
rag.
12. Be careful to prevent dirt from entering the air duct that
leads to the carburettor.
7.2.4 Maintaining the spark plug

be properly gapped and free of deposits.
