Mounting Models 3020, 3520, 5520, 6020, 6120, and 9200 to a
Rack
The following section describes how to install a 3U system, models 3020, 3520, 5520, 6020, and 9200, to a
four-post rack. You must use a four-post rack for 3U systems.
Caution:
All 3U systems must be mounted to a four-post rack; they cannot be mounted to a two-post rack.
Important:
For 3U xx20 models reseat all hard disks prior to powering the unit on. Reseat 3U xx20 disks anytime the
Steelhead appliance is shipped to a new location.
You must install the inner rails to the chassis before you install the outer rails and mount the system to a
rack. Before installing the inner rails to the chassis:
Unplug the AC power cords.
Remove all external devices and connectors.
To mount the inner rails to the chassis
1.
In each rail assembly, locate the inner rail and the outer rail.
2.
Press the locking tab to release the inner rail from its locking position and pull out the inner rail from
the rail assembly. The inner rails are installed on the chassis and the outer rails are installed on the rack.
