Clamping System
3.24.1
Rotating Clamps
The rotating clamping system, located on the lower machine base, are used for clamping panels
and enclosures. These clamps should operate smoothly and in a synchronous movement. If the
action is hesitant, sluggish or inoperative, check the following.
Slow reaction with rotation or clamping
Check, clean and lubricate the clamp shaft mechanism.
If improper movement is isolated to either half of the
clamps or only affects individual clamps, check the
associated actuator.
No rotation on all clamps
Check, lubricate or replace the clamp rotation valve
(Located on the lower left frame of the machine)
Visually inspect the I/O lights on the solenoid block for an
input from the PLC.
Replace the valve or solenoid.
No clamping action at the clamps
Check, lubricate or replace the clamping valve (Located on
the lower left frame of the machine)
Visually inspect the I/O lights on the solenoid block for an
input from the PLC.
Replace the valve or solenoid.
Note: Poor air quality can create air valve problems, moisture will cause the valves to rust. It is highly
recommended to use an air dryer and traps, prior to the Perforex machine.
