Congratulations on your purchase of a new RIP CURL WORLD TIDE & TIME watch. Your watch has
been specifically designed to help you score the best surf. Loaded with programmed tide & world time
information,best surf conditions, future tide function, compass mode, sunrise and set times, moon
phase, timer, stop watch, dual time, alarms, light...enjoy!
Important: Tidemaster watches must not be used for navigation at any time.
Tidemaster watches approximate the tides based upon average intervals and lunar cycles. Local tide
conditions can vary from their indicated display.
SETTING THE TIDE RANGE (MOON PHASES) - SUB DIAL AT 10 O
’
CLOCK
The tide range counter performs one revolution in 29 days 12 hours and 44 minutes.
No setting is required as the moon phase dial is factory preset to your area. If minor adjustment is required
please follow these instructions.
NOTE:
To maintain accurate moon tracking over long periods, small adjustments may need to made to
your Tide Range.
You need to score a tide chart with moon phase from your local surf shop (or newspaper) to initially set
the Tide Range hand…
From your tide chart calculate the moon phase right now. Full moons are generally 29 days apart. If your
chart says full moon is seven days from today, set your watch to - NEAP tide, rotating clockwise to SPRING
(FULL MOON icon).
TO SET
Hold Button A for 3 seconds until you hear a “beep”. Press A again to set the tide range corresponding
to the moon phase.
Holding A enables rapid setting to be performed.
After 3 seconds without pressing on A, a beep indicates exit from setting mode.
There is no setting ecessary for the Tide Range dial.
This dial is preset at the factory to synchronise with the lunar cycle. This dial indicates the difference between
successive high and low tides. This does not necessarily show very high or very low tides but rather the
variant of water movement from high to low and back to high again. Periods of maximum tidal range are
called “Spring Tides.”
Periods of minimal tidal range known as “Neap Tides.”
NOTE:
Neap tides occur on the first & last quarters of the moon’s cycle and relate to the minimal tidal
movement periods of the month. Spring Tides occur on the full & new moon cycles and relate to the maximum
tidal movement periods of the month.
This example indicates tide is approximately 30 minutes
after Low Tide and tide is now rising.
NOTE:
When adjusting your watch for daylight saving you will need to reset your ATS Tide Height dial.
TO SET
Hold Button B for 3 seconds until you hear a “beep”. Press B again to set the state of the local tide.
Holding B enables rapid setting to be performed. After 3 seconds without pressing on B, a beep indicates
exit from setting mode.
This example indicates NEAP tide, half moon. Approximately
seven days until Full Moon.

BEST SURF CONDITIONS

Press (Start +) to view, the best Tide, Wind, and Swell required
for your selected spot.
COMPASS MODE
-
The bottom half of your screen displays the compass in I-degree
resolution and direction abbreviation. eg; SE= South East. It’s
in this mode you calibrate the compass and insert an offset for
true north accuracy.(See setting procedure)
FUTURE TIDE MODE
-
This mode will display tide information until Dec 2026 using
our patented FUTURE tide prediction feature. This mode also
allows you to create a custom location by placing an offset
average to any of the 500 locations.

SUNRISE / SUNSET MODE

This mode displays the days sunrise and sunset times for your
set location until Dec 2026 using our FUTURE sunrise prediction
feature. (See setting procedure)
CHRONO MODE (STOPWATCH)

Stopwatch, up to 99 laps.

TIMER MODE
-
Countdown timer for contest surfing or just keeping track
when time counts.

ALARM MODE
- Alarms for each time zone.

NOTE: SPECIAL FEATURES:
1. In any mode holding the light button for 2 seconds will return the watch to MAIN SCREEN.
2. We have given the MAIN SCREEN a different key tone, this means even in the dark you can
always find this mode.
3. AUTO OFF FUNCTION. To Conserve battery your watch is enabled with a Auto-off function. If the
Auto-Off Screen setting is turned ON, the screen will automatically turn-off after 1 minute of no key
activity (i.e. no buttons have been pressed).To turn the screen back-on, press any key.
