Commissioning
EN
4.1 PREPARATION TO FIRST COMMISSIONING
The equipment first commissioning must be carried out by
the Technical Support Service.
Prior to commissioning, it is necessary to check that:
• all the safety conditions have been met
• the required distances have been respected
• in order to prevent the formation of ice during defrosting
operations, or the continuous modulation of the compres-
sor's frequency, the amount of water in the primary cir-
cuit is greater than the minimum volume indicated in the
chapter "System water content and flow rate"
• the water system's shut-off devices are open
• the water circuit has been deaerated
• the mesh filter has been installed and was properly clea-
ned after the system was filled
• the electrical connections have been properly completed
• the electrical power supply's values are correct
• the earthing has been carried out correctly
• all the connections have been properly tightened
• check that the machine has been charged with refrigerant.
Check on the data plate that the "conveyed fluid" is the
one recommended for the operation - and not nitrogen.
• Check for the presence of all documents sup-
plied
by
the
manufacturer
(dimensional
dra-
wings, P&I diagram, declarations, etc.) as requi-
red by law. If part of the documentation is missing,
request it.
• Check for the presence of environment safety devices and
protection devices supplied by the manufacture as requi-
red by law.
• Check for the presence of all declarations of conformity for
pressurised containers, identification plates and the requi-
red documentation in compliance with local regulations.
• Check the instructions and directives to avoid the intentio-
nal removal of refrigerant gases.
• Check welding and other connections quality.
• Check the protection against mechanical damages.
• Check the heat protection.
• Check the protection of the moving parts.
• Check the valve status.
• Check the quality of the thermal insulation.
• Check the insulation status of the 400 V cables.
If the compressors are equipped with supports, check
whether they are provided with fastening mechanisms. If
so, the fastening mechanisms must be removed before
starting the system. The fastening mechanisms are iden-
tified with red collars and marked with a label fixed to the
compressor sub-unit.
Always wear suitable Personal Protective Equipment.
The device must always be powered electrically in order to
allow for the compressor's oil to be properly pre-heated.
The device must receive electrical power for at least eight
hours before being started up for the first time.
Set the system's main switch to its "ON" position, and the
device's main disconnecting switch to
"ON".
4.2 FIRST COMMISSIONING
Before starting the unit always make sure you have read and
fully understood the operating instructions of the units and
make sure the following measures have been taken:
• check the heat transfer fluid circulation pumps, the air tre-
atment equipment and any other equipment connected to
the exchangers;
• make sure there are no refrigerant leaks;
• check the tightening of the retaining clips of all tubes;
• check the supply at the main connection point and phase
order;
• open the suction shut-off valves of each circuit for the cor-
responding machines;
• check the operation of the compressor oil casing heating
elements 6 hours before starting the system;
• during start-up and testing, check that the system has a
thermal load and water flowing through the exchangers;
• check that all setpoint adjustments and control tests are
carried out before starting the unit.
Now it is possible to proceed with the unit commissioning.
Check that all safety devices are
in operation, in particular that the high pressure switches are
enabled and that any alarm is removed.
For units without factory installed hydronic module, the
installer is responsible of the thermal protection and the
connections of the system pumps.
Commissioning and start-up must be supervised by a
qualified technician.
If the manufacturer's recommendations (system electrical
and hydraulic connections) are not complied with, service
calls under warranty will not be accepted.
4.3 CHECKS TO BE PERFORMED AFTER FIRST
COMMISSIONING
After start-up:
• check that each compressor is rotating in the correct di-
rection, checking that the discharge temperature increases
rapidly, the HP increases and the LP decreases. If it is rota-
ting in the wrong direction, the power supply is not wired
correctly (inverted phases). To ensure the correct rotation
direction, invert the two power supply phases.
• Check the compressor discharge temperature with a con-
tact sensor.
• Check the input current, that must be normal.
• Check all safety devices to make sure they work correctly.
• Check that the compressor's noise level is not abnormal
(knocking sound).
• Check that the device is operating under the recommen-
ded operating conditions.
