To make it easy to find a control in Synopta, the path to a control is shown in this
manual as follows:
Controls / Water / Substrate / Irrigation, EC and pH / Irrigation valve
groups / Valve group
The third step in this path is always the irrigation method (underlined). For illustration
purposes, this is shown here as ‘substrate’. Your own system will display the
irrigation method that you use, e.g.: ebb and flow or sprinkling.
You can always find detailed information in the Synopta help using the key
combination [Ctrl] + [F1].
To program fertigation, use the following controls:
Valve groups
Valves
Periods
Fertigation recipes
Irrigation
Fertilizer dosing
Acid dosing
Start conditions
In addition, it is also important that you are familiar with the alarms in Synopta.
6.3.1
Valve group
Controls / Water / Substrate / Irrigation, EC and pH / Irrigation valve
groups / Valve group
A valve group (or irrigation group) is a collection of valves. Use the valve group
control to:
assign valves to a valve group.
define different periods for each valve group.
set which fertigation recipe is to be used for which valve group in which period.
6.3.2
Assign valves to valve groups
Controls / Water / Substrate / Irrigation, EC and pH / Irrigation valve
groups / Valve group
tab: Links
A valve group consists of one or more valves. Under the
Links
tab, you will see the
‘Link irrigation valves to irrigation group’ setting. Use this setting to link or unlink
valves to a valve group.
6.3.3
Period
Controls / Water / Substrate / Irrigation, EC and pH / Irrigation valve
groups / Valve group
tab: Period
A period is a specific period of time that you define by entering a start and end time.
Use periods to vary the settings during the day (and night).
