In Case of Trouble
Image Quality Monitor Console does not appear.
Image Quality Monitor Console does not appear if the printer is switched off or is in Energy Saver
mode. Check if the printer is switched on.
The IP address entered in the browser may be incorrect. If you have forgotten the IP address, contact
your service representative.
There is no problem with the printed copies, but a print defect notification appears on the
Image Quality Monitor console.
The machine may have erroneously detected a print defect. If the notification keeps appearing on the
Image Quality Monitor console even after taking the steps given below, contact your service
representative.
If a message prompting you to clean the line sensor is displayed on the main unit's control panel
1. Perform the cleaning.
For details, see page 44 "How to Clean the Line Sensor".
2. Print a copy.
3. If print defects keep occurring on the Image Quality Monitor console or if the message prompting
you to clean appears even after performing the procedure in "How to Clean the Line Sensor",
clean the contact glass.
For details, see page 46 "Cleaning the Contact Glass".
4. Print a copy again.
If the problem persists, proceed to "If the [Possible False Detection] icon appears".
If the [Possible False Detection] icon appears on the Image Quality Monitor console
1. Add inspection patterns.

2. Print a copy.
If the problem persists, proceed to "If the [Possible False Detection] icon does not appear".
If the [Possible False Detection] icon does not appear on the Image Quality Monitor console
Depending on the type of image, erroneous detection may occur.
Erroneous detection may not always occur. However, it is more likely with, for example, very low-
resolution images or certain textures and patterns, as shown.
