• The correct exposure may not be obtained with the selected
shutter speed and aperture value when the sensitivity is fixed

When shooting with a slow shutter speed, you can reduce
image noise in [Slow Shutter Speed NR] of [Noise Reduction] in
the
A 2 menu.
In [Program Line] of the A 1 menu, you can specify how the
exposure is controlled.

• The Program Line setting is enabled in the following
situations.

G or H mode
• When G LINE is set for the M operation of K or L in [E-
Dial Programming] of [Button Customization] in the A 5 menu
• When [Program Line] is assigned to the function dial, you can
change the setting using the Smart Function. (p.21, p.105)
Reducing Noise when Shooting with a
Slow Shutter Speed

Auto
Applies Noise Reduction according to the shutter
speed, sensitivity, and internal temperature of the
camera.
On
Applies Noise Reduction when the shutter speed is
slower than 1 second.
Off Does not apply Noise Reduction at any shutter speed.

Priority
Prioritizes high shutter speeds.

DOF Priority
(Deep) Closes the aperture for a deep depth of

(Shallow) Opens the aperture for a shallow depth of
field.
F MTF Priority
Sets the sharpest aperture of the attached
lens when a DA, DA L, D FA, FA J, or FA
lens is used.
