2.5 Operator ’ s responsibility
Since the device is used in the commercial sector, the operator of
the device is subject to statutory occupational health and safety
obligations.
Besides the safety instructions in this operating manual, the
safety, accident prevention and environmental protection
regulations that apply to operation of the device must be
observed.
The operator must:
Find out about the applicable occupational health and safety
regulations and, in a risk assessment, determine additional
hazards that result from the particular working conditions at the
location where the device is used. This must be implemented in
the form of operating instructions for the device.
Comply with the necessary requirements at the installation site.
Attach suitable warning signs at the installation site that indicate
the dangers in the work area.
During the entire service life of the device, check whether the
operating instructions created by it are in line with the current
status of the regulations, and adapt them if necessary.
Clearly regulate and define the responsibility of the personnel for
installation, operation, maintenance and cleaning.
Ensure that all staff who work with the device have read and
understood the operating manual. In addition, the operator must
train the staff at regular intervals and inform them of the hazards
present in the work area.
Regularly check that staff are aware of safety and risks when
working, as per with the operating manual.
Ensure that this installation and operating manual and all other
applicable regulations are accessible to operating and
maintenance staff.
Check and document compliance with the specified cleaning and
maintenance intervals.
Provide staff with the necessary protective equipment.
