CUTTERSHAFT BEARING REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
Outer Cuttershaft Bearing Removal
1. Remove belt; disconnect tension rod; loosen adjustment tube pivot points bolts; rotate assembly toward
deck; remove belt.
2. Remove lower sheave
3. Disconnect grease line.
4. Remove both set screws from bearing lock collar. (Note: Set screws align with dimples in shaft) Set screws
are lock tightened in place.
5. Place floor jack under cuttershaft inside end plate to support weight of shaft.
6. Remove dirt, debris and paint from shaft.
7. Unbolt bearing and mount plate assembly by removing four outer bolts ( See Figure Mnt-Fl-0041, Item 11 )
8. Remove bearing from mount plate.
Installation
1. Clean all debris from shaft.
2. Attach bearing (1) to bearing plate (2) using four 5/8” bolts (3) and locknuts (4).
3. Slide assembly over shaft and align set screws with dimples in shaft.
4. Install lock collar and apply thread locking compound to set screws and tighten in place.
5. Attach bearing assembly and plate with outer four 5/8” bolts.
6. Install belt as outlined in Maintenance 5-6 and 5-7.
