Note:
If the display has previously been operational, but is currently in STBY, the previous operational settings
are retained with the exception of the signal processing functions, which are set to a safe default condition. For
example, the SEA and RAIN functions are set to a minimum level.
Check heading!
Before using the radar image, first check Own Ship Heading (HDG). This bearing value must coincide with
compass heading. If not, may be an interface fault has occurred.
If more than one Gyro, Log and position (GPS) sensors are available, one is given preference. If this one fails,
the second one will be automatically selected.
3.3.2

The selectable radar ranges depend on the used radar system.
To change a range, click on the left or right arrow button, to change
step by step.
Or click on the activated range indication to pop up ranges

Available ranges may be different depending on connected radar brand and transmitter power.
Note:
Range units are only available in Nautical Miles.
ATTENTION: It is recommended not to use in open seas a range less than 6NM.
At 6NM range, collision with an approaching ship from ahead, with an usual cruising speed of 16 to 20kn
and same speed of own ship, may happen within few minutes after target appearance on image edge.
An exception is, if second radar is active with a higher range, or to do it for short time between, to check the
near distance area.
3.3.3
Delete range rings [RR]
Range rings can be shown or suppressed. Click [RR] (at top line right beside of range buttons) to toggle
between the two alternatives.
