Alarm mute
In alarm systems with this feature, the alarm signal can be muted/switched off for about five (5) minutes.
Use this function only when you are absolutely sure that the alarm has been triggered by a known issue,
e.g. smoke during cooking or during heavy smoking of cigars or cigarettes in small spaces. To do so, press
the Mute button on the alarm system and the alarm will be suppressed for about five minutes. The alarm
will sound again after this period if the air still heavily charged with combustion substances. The mute
function can be used repeatedly. If you want to disable the mute function again after activation, press the
test button.
The mute function is not available when there is intense concentration of smoke!
Exchange/replacement of the alarm system
The alarm system includes a non-replaceable lithium battery. Under normal operating conditions, this
system will keep running for about ten (10) years. The alarm system is provided with battery capacity
detection. If the battery wears off, every 30-40 seconds a very audible „beep“ sound will emitted. This
tone will be heard for at least 30 days. If this tone is emitted, the alarm system must be replaced by a new
device. Pull the battery switch on the side of the housing to interrupt the power supply before disposing of
the device.
This device contains reusable recyclable materials and a lithium battery. Do not dispose of the device in the
household waste but take it to a collection point for electrical appliances. Consult your local municipality to
find the nearest collection site.
Useful safety precautions
In certain situations, a smoke alarm system will not be effective in protecting against fire. For example:
smoking in bed;
if children are left unattended in the house and have access to sources of ignition;
when working with flammable liquids (such as gasoline).
Installation and mounting
Your smoke alarm system is designed for easy installation on the ceiling. A full installation kit is supplied
with each smoke alarm system. First, hold the brackets on the ceiling and use a pencil to mark the 2 holes.
Use a drill to bore the holes and then attach the brackets to the ceiling using the screws provided.
On wood panelling or beams, drill a 20mm deep hole with a 2.5mm drill and secure the bracket with the
supplied screws.
In case of concrete or masonry, use a 5.5mm drill bit and drill a hole that is 25 - 30mm deep. Make sure
that the dowels hold in the drill holes; if not, find another location for the smoke detector.
Press the battery switch so that it is fully inserted in the case. The system is equipped with safety features
preventing the system from being attached to the bracket if the battery switch is not fully inserted. Remove
the locking pin from the mounting plate and place the smoke detector onto the mounting plate. Fix this by
turning until the stop on the mounting plate and insert the safety pin again.
After installation, examine all parts for proper installation and stable fit before checking if the smoke alarm
functions properly by pressing the test button.
