7.9 Pressure
Accuracy Test
The pressure accuracy test verifies that pressures are within specified limits.
1. Attach an oxygen enrichment adapter to the ventilator outlet port and
occlude.
2. Set the pneumatic analyzer pressure range to measure at least 20
cmH
2
O, and connect the analyzer to the oxygen enrichment adapter.
3. If the ventilator is not already in normal ventilation mode, cycle power
to the ventilator to enter normal ventilation mode.
4. Select CPAP mode and set the pressure to 4 cmH
2
O. Verify the
pressure reading and record the results.
5. Set the pressure to 20 cmH
2
O. Verify pressure reading and record the
results.
6. Select: S/T mode, IPAP = 10 cmH
2
O, EPAP = 5 cmH
2
O, Rate = 10
BPM, and I-Time = 2.0.
7. Verify that the BiPAP Focus switches between IPAP and EPAP. Record
the results.
8. Activate the ramp time setting and set ramp time to 5 minutes.
9. Observe the display and the analyzer reading. Verify that the pressure
increases to the target pressure in 5 minutes and record the results on
the data form.
