Tinnitus Sound Generator module
Your ReSound hearing aid includes the Tinnitus Sound Generator (TSG) module, a tool for generating sounds to
be used in tinnitus management programs to temporarily relieve suffering from tinnitus. The TSG can generate
sounds adjusted to the specific therapeutic needs and your personal preference as determined by your doctor,
audiologist, or hearing care professional. Depending on the selected hearing aid program and the environment
you are in, you will sometimes hear the therapeutic sound resembling a continuous or fluctuating noise.
Indications for use of the TSG module
The Tinnitus Sound Generator module is a tool to generate sounds to be used in a tinnitus management program
to temporarily relieve patients suffering from tinnitus. The target population is primarily the adult population over
18 years of age. This product may also be used with children 12 years of age or older. However, children and
physically or mentally disabled users will require training by a doctor, audiologist, hearing care professional or the
guardian for the insertion and removal of the hearing aid containing the TSG module.
For healthcare professionals
The Tinnitus Sound Generator module is targeted for healthcare professionals who are treating patients suffering
from tinnitus, as well as conventional hearing disorders. The initial fitting of the Tinnitus Sound Generator module
must be done during an in-office visit by a hearing professional participating in a tinnitus management program. If
deemed feasible by the hearing professional, subsequent fittings of the Tinnitus Sound Generator module may
be performed remotely and in real time while having live communication via live audio, video and chat on the
user's dedicated app.
