B.6.8 Wet-End Cable Connections
The cable connections to the LCU, receiver, and projector units should be
made prior to immersing the units in water.
A light lubrication coating on the connector face will ensure sealing.
Unused connectors should be sealed with dummy plugs.
Verify that all cables are securely fastened and that strain relief is provided to
prevent cable damage.
CAUTION
Take care to avoid impact to the faces of projector and receiver units, as damage
could degrade system performance.
CAUTION
To reduce the amount of radiated emission, the cables for LCU and SVP must be
bundled tightly together onboard the vessel.
To avoid damage to the system components, the LCU connections
must
be made as
follows:
Connector J1:
LCU to processor cable
Connector J2:
Receiver to LCU cable
Connector J3:
400kHz projector to LCU cable
Connector J4:
200kHz projector to LCU cable
(optional)
