Intended use
This product is intended for connecting to a computer. Using this product will allow
for controlling two computers with only one mouse and one keyboard. The product
furthermore functions as a hotspot providing mobile devices with access to the
Internet. The product can also be used as a key for preventing unauthorized parties
from accessing the computer. The product also allows for wireless data transfer
between multiple devices and shared use of the clipboard.
It is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors. Contact with moisture, e.g. in
bathrooms, must be avoided under all circumstances.
For safety and approval purposes (CE), you must not rebuild and/or modify this product.
If you use the product for purposes other than those described above, the product may
be damaged. In addition, improper use can cause hazards such as short circuiting,
fire, electric shock etc. Read the instructions carefully and keep them. Make this
product available to third parties only together with its operating instructions.

Safety instructions
Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety
information. If you do not follow the safety instructions and information on
proper handling in this manual, we assume no liability for any resulting
personal injury or damage to property. Such cases will invalidate the
warranty/guarantee.
• The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. These may
become dangerous playing material for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong
jolts, high humidity, moisture, flammable gases, vapours and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of
operation and protect it from any accidental use. Safe operation can no
longer be guaranteed if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a
low height can damage the product.
• Also observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices
which are connected to the product.
• Consult an expert when in doubt about operation, safety or connection of
the device.

Maintenance, modifications and repairs are to be performed exclusively
by an expert or at a qualified shop.
• If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating
instructions, contact our technical support service or other technical
personnel.
Connection and operation
a) Connection via Access Point (AP) or RJ-45 cable
• Make sure both computers are connected to the same local network. That can be
achieved by the following two methods:
- Connect both computers wirelessly to the same Access Point (AP).
- Connect both computers to the same router using one RJ-45 cable each.
You may also connect both computers directly to each other using a peer-
to-peer network (P2P). Nevertheless, that requires for the driver to be
installed on both computers first. The detailed procedure for doing that is
described below.

Connect the product to a free USB port on the first computer (herein after called
Computer A).
•
When using the disk management tool, navigate to drive H and open the file named
“YouLinkLd.exe”. A warning message will appear. Click the “Yes” button to confirm.
The display will show the software user interface, followed by a message indicating
that the computer has been set up successfully.
• Disconnect the product from Computer A and connect it to a free USB port on the
second computer (herein after called Computer B).
• Repeat the second last step.
• Leave the product connected to Computer B. Computer B will then automatically try
to connect to Computer A. Alternatively, click the “Search” button.
Although there is a possibility of multiple devices being detected, you may
only connect two computers at the same time.
•
You will then be prompted to confirm the connection to Computer A. To do so, click
the “Confirm” button. If you do not want to establish the connection, click the
“Reject” button.
• The product is now ready for use.
b) Connection via peer-to-peer network (P2P)

Connect the product to a free USB port on the first computer (herein after called
Computer A).
•
When using the disk management tool, navigate to drive H and open the file named
“YouLinkLd.exe”. A warning message will appear. Click the “Yes” button to confirm.
The display will show the software user interface, followed by a message indicating
that the computer has been set up successfully.
• Click the grey antenna icon located in the upper left corner of the user interface.
Once the antenna icon turns blue, Computer A will function as a virtual hotspot.
• Disconnect the product from Computer A and connect it to a free USB port on the
second computer (herein after called Computer B).
• Computer B will then automatically try to connect to Computer A. If not successful,
you can open the list of available WLAN devices and select “KMHotSpot_XXXXX”
(the name of your computer will appear in the list instead of XXXXX). The password
is “kmHotSpo”.
You may also click the “Setup” button in order to display or change the
password. The password appears in the lowermost line (WiFi Hotspot
Access Key). If changing the password, the new password must also
consist of 8 characters.
•
You will then be prompted to confirm the connection to Computer A. To do so, click
the “Confirm” button. If you do not want to establish the connection, click the
“Reject” button.
• The product is now ready for use.
Functions
a) Controlling two computers with only one mouse and one keyboard
•
Once the connection between both computers has been established, a window will
appear showing the options “Use Mouse Middle Button” and “Use Mouse Move off
The Edge of Screen”.
• Moreover, you should also enter the position of the other computer. If, for example,
the other computer stands on the right side, select “Right Side of This PC”.
•
Click “OK” to confirm.
• Simply navigate the mouse beyond the edge of the screen in order to switch to the
other computer respectively.
• You may also use the shortcut Alt + S to switch between both computers.
