Mounting
The valve should be mounted so that the drive rod on the actuator is
within 90° from the vertical line and the motor housing is on top. The valve
actuator’s drive rod should be in its highest/innermost position when it is
mounted on the valve.
Fix the actuator to the valve using the connection nut and the correspond-
ing adapter (must be ordered separately)
, manual power is sufficient.
For valves with 2.7 mm stroke, the actuator needs to be set in 3.2 mm
stroke mode. For valves with 6 mm stroke, the actuator needs to be set in
6.3 mm stroke mode.

Wiring
The actuator has a connection cable with a connector which is intended
for connection to the bottom of the actuator. There is only one way to plug
in the contact. Be careful not to damage the cable if the connector needs
to be removed from the actuator.

Function
When the actuator is first turned on it will run a complete cycle to self-
calibrate. The stem extends to the max end stroke in order to get the
zero point before it moves back to the position corresponding to the
control signal.
When the signal increases (e.g. from 0 to 10 V) the stem will extend
if the actuator is set to direct action (DA, DIP switch 4 is in position
OFF) and retract if it set to reverse action (RA, DIP switch 4 is in
position ON). When the signal decreases, the stem will retreat if the
actuator is set to DA and extend if it is set to RA.
NB: PCTV, PCMTV and PCTVS DN15-32 valves are normally open.
They close when the actuator stem extends.
If the signal stays at 100 %, the actuator will start every 2 hours and
try to move the stem in the corresponding direction for 60 s to check
that the end stroke has been reached.
Position and status indication
RVAPC-24A has a two-coloured LED indicating operating status

Cycle
Red fixed
4/20 mA or 2/10 VDC signal lost
Settings
RVAPC-24A features 6 DIP switches allowing to set the range, the ac-
tion type, the curve and the signal type.
By default all DIP switches are set to OFF (0...10 V DC, linear, direct
action).
