INSTRUCTIONS
Room controller, one 0...10 V output
ALD24A1 is a wall mounted digital room controller. The unit is
suitable for zone control of heating and/or cooling in ventilation
and airhandling systems. It has built-in sensor, input for external
sensor and a 0...10 V DC output. The controller can operate in
either P or PI mode. It also has an input for change-over, which
controls whether it operates in heating or cooling mode. Individual
setpoints for heating and cooling. Input to change running mode
between occupied and unoccupied.
Installation
Open the front cover by depressing the plastic latchhook on the
lower cover edge. Mount the unit vertically according to figure.
Use screws with a maximum head diameter of 5.5 mm.
The mounting holes have a c:c distance of 60 mm to fit onto a
standard size wallbox. If the ALD24A1 is to be used with the built-in
sensor, mount it approximately 5 ft above floor level in a location
with a representative temperature and good air circulation.

Wiring
All neutrals are internally connected
Supply voltage
24V AC ±15%, 50-60Hz. Power consumption 2VA.
Terminal 1
24V AC
Terminal 2
24V AC System neutral
Output
0..10V DC, 1mA Load impedance min 10 kOhms
Terminal 3
0..10V DC
Terminal 4

Sensor
The controller has a built-in sensor. If external sensor is used,
move the jumper located to the right of terminal 7 so that it shorts
the two lefthand pins (see figure).
Terminal 5
Ext. sensor (NTC)
Terminal 6
Signal neutral
Change-over
The ALD24A1 change-over function input can be used to
automatically control the ALD24A1 mode of operation, i.e.
heating or cooling function. Connect a sensor of type REGIN
NTC or a potential free shorting switch between this terminal
and GND.
Heating function is selected when terminal is shorted, and
cooling function when left open.
If a sensor is used, it should have a 0..30°C range, for example
TG-A130. The temperature at the sensor controls function.
Mount the sensor so it monitors the supply water temperature.
When this temperature exceeds 22°C, the output function will
change to heating and if it drops below 18°C, the output
function will change to cooling.
Note!
•
For proper function when using a change-over sensor the
system must have constant primary-water circulation.
Choosing heating or cooling
If change-over is not used, the input terminal should be
shorted to GND when heating function is desired and left open
for cooling function.
Terminal 5
Change-over sensor or closing contact
Terminal 6
Signal neutral
Running mode
Using an external switch, for example a presence detector, the
ALD24A1 can be set to occupied or unoccupied mode. The two
modes have individual setpoints for both heating and cooling.
Symbols on the display show which of the modes is active.
Closed contact = Occupied mode
Open contact = Unoccupied mode
Terminal 8
Presence signal
Terminal 6
Signal neutral
Display
The display normally shows the actual temperature, output
level using an eight-segment bargraph and whether heating or
cooling is active. If the unit is configured for occupied /
unoccupied changeover there are symbols indicating which of
the modes is active.
