5.6.1.3.1 <3> Settings
– Sub-menu <1> Code type selection
In this menu, it is possible to select groups of code symbologies or
individual code types for testing/evaluation. The characteristics of
the respected code types to be tested can be additionally
configured. Accessing the code selection is possible via 2
fundamentally different pre-selections.
Selection of
user search
enables the compilation of a code type list
in the individual manner desired by the user. This includes the
automatic recognition of all individually composed code types.
Selecting with <
OK>
displays the list of pre-set code types and
parameters and this can then be changed. At the time of delivery,
the composition of this list is identical to the company settings and
can be changed by the user at any time. By selecting
<default>
it is
possible to reactive the company settings.
Pressing the <
OK ENTER
> button activates or deactivates the
respective code type selected. All activated codes are marked with a
cross.
With this, the background colour also changes from blue to green.
Once all desired codes in the list have been activated, use the arrow
keys to go to the
OK
field in the footer and confirm with <
OK
ENTER
>.
Selection of the
single select
enables the selection of single code
families or individual code types. With this, it is possible to ensure
that only the single activated code will be checked and evaluated. All
other codes generate an error message.
Selecting with <
OK>
displays the list of the available code types.
Pressing the <
OK ENTER
> button activates the respective code
type selected. Once the desired code in the list has been activated,
use the arrow keys to go to the
OK
field in the footer and confirm
with <
OK ENTER
>.
The list of code types is much longer than the list shown on the screenshot. Using the arrow key it
is possible to view the code types further down the list.
When decoding all other code types that are not selected, the verifier reports the error: “
Cannot be
decoded
”.
The operating mode “individual code search” must be used when checking the code types that
cannot be decoded in combination with other code types.
This is the case with the following codes for example: "Mini Pharma Code" and "Pharma Code".
With the code type "Stacked GS1-DataBar Codes" it is advisable to set the "individual code
search".
The list of selectable code types varies in length, depending on whether “Optional code types” have
been acquired as accessories in addition to the standard code list.
Some codes cannot be activated together with other codes (e.g. code ITF-14 cannot be selected
together with code 2 from 5 INT). If such a code type is selected, the code type that cannot be
selected together with it will be automatically deselected.
