Region Management Information
This unit is designed and manufactured to respond to the Region Management Information that is
encoded on DVDs. If the region number printed on the DVD does not correspond to the region number
of this unit, it cannot play that disc.
The region number of this unit is 1.
Disc Function or Operation that is Not Available
When the
appears on the screen, it indicates that the function or operation attempted is not
available at that time. This occurs because the DVD manufacturer determines the specific functions
of DVDs. Certain functions may not be available on some DVDs. Be sure to read the documentation
provided with the DVD.

Remote Control
Using the Remote Control
• Point the remote control at the REMOTE
SENSOR located on the unit.
• When using this unit in very bright light, the
infrared REMOTE CONTROL SENSOR may
not work properly.
• The recommended effective distance
for remote operation is about 16 feet (5
meters).
Battery Replacement
When the batteries become weak, the operating
distance of the remote control will be greatly
reduced and you will need to replace the
batteries.
Note:
• If the remote control is not going to be used
for a long time, remove the batteries to
avoid damage caused by battery leakage
corrosion.
• When discarding batteries, environmental
problems must be considered and local
rules or laws governing the disposal of these
batteries must be strictly followed.
• Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix
ALKALINE, standard (CARBON-ZINC), or
rechargeable (Ni-Cd, Ni-MH, etc) batteries.
WARNING:
• Do not dispose of the battery in fire or it may

SYMPTOM CAUSE (AND REMEDY)
• Ensure the AC power cord is connected.
• The unit is not turned on.
• Remove any obstacles between the remote and the unit
• Use the remote near the unit.
• Point the remote at the remote sensor on the unit.
• Replace the batteries in the remote with new one.
• Make sure that you select ON mode.
• The system is in pause mode. Press the
PLAY
button to return to
normal play mode.
• The unit is in fast-forward or fast-reverse mode. Press the
PLAY
button
to return to normal play mode.
• Make sure the AUDIO output is correct.
• Make sure the audio cable is connected securely.
• The region number of the disc doesn’t match the region number of this
unit.
• The TV is not set to receive DVD signal output.
• The video/HDMI cable is not connected securely.
• The TV is not turned on.
• Clean the disc.
• Check connection between HDMI TV and the unit.
• Replace the HDMI cable with a better one. Bad HDMI cable can cause
data lost.
• Press HDMI key on remote handset several times to toggle among
different HD OUTPUT.
• Check the connections.
• The plugs and jacks are dirty. Wipe them with a cloth slightly moistened
with alcohol.
• Clean the disc.
• There is no disc inside. (“No Disc” appears on the screen).
• Insert the disc correctly with the playback side facing down.
• Clean the disc.
• The unit and disc region number are incompatible.
• Condensation may have formed inside the unit due to a sudden change in
temperature. Wait about an hour for it to clear and try again.
• Ensure that the video file has been converted to DivX format using the
DivX Plus Player on your PC or MAC.
• Not all video files are encoded to allow for playback on DivX Certified®
products.
• Some video files may have been encoded with errors.
• Reset the unit, press the STANDBY/ON button to turn off the unit, wait for
a few seconds, then restart the unit.

On Placement
• Do not use the unit in places that are

You may not be able to play some DVDs on
this unit, particularly if they were purchased
from outside your geographic area or made
for business purposes.

Cleaning the Disc
A defective or soiled disc inserted into the unit can cause sound to drop out
during playback. Handle the disc by holding its inner and outer edges.
• Do NOT touch the surface of the unlabeled side of the disc.
• Do NOT stick paper or tape on the surface.
• Do NOT expose the disc to direct sunlight or excessive heat.
• Clean the disc before playback. Wipe the disc from the center outward with a cleaning cloth.
• NEVER use solvents such as benzine or alcohol to clean the disc.
• Do NOT use irregular shaped discs (example: heart shaped, octagonal, etc.). They may cause
malfunctions.
Cleaning the Unit
• Be sure to turn the unit off and disconnect the AC power cord before maintaining the unit.
• Wipe the unit with a dry soft cloth. If the surfaces are extremely dirty, wipe clean with a cloth that
has been dipped in a weak soap-and-water solution and wrung out thoroughly, then wipe with a dry

The unit can be connected to your TV in several different
ways, depending on the design of your TV.
Note: Use only one of the below listed connection
method for connecting to your TV.
A. RCA AUDIO/VIDEO JACKS
Use the Audio/Video cable (included).
Connect the VIDEO OUT and left/right
AUDIO OUT jacks on the unit to the VIDEO
IN and left/right AUDIO IN jacks on your TV.

B. CONNECTING TO A DISPLAY (Using a
HDMI cable)
For TVs that support it, HDMI can provide the
best quality audio and video output (depending
on media source), and so is the preferred
connection type. The HDMI cable incorporates
both audio and video signals, so you will have
just one cable running from the unit to your TV.
Using the HDMI cable (not included), connect
the HDMI OUT jack on your unit to the HDMI IN
jack on your TV or HDMI-compatible display.
• Set an output signal from the HDMI terminal
of the DVD player in accordance with your
TV’s input signal
• When using HDMI cable, set the “Digital
Out” menu under “Audio” menu to be “PCM
(STEREO)”
• Press the HDMI button on the remote control
to change output signals as below:
480p (progressive)
720p (progressive)
1080I (interlace)
1080p (progressive)
Note:
• Refer to your owner’s manual to the
connected TV as well.
• When you connect the DVD player to your
TV, be sure to turn off the power and unplug
both units from the wall outlet before making
any connections.

USING USB PORT
You can connect a USB flash driveS (not included) to the USB port on the unit to play DivX®
movies
as well as picture files.
• Plug the USB flash drive into the USB port on the unit.
• Press SOURCE button to select USB mode.
For operation of file playback on the USB flash drive, please refer to the section “PLAYING DivX®
VIDEO OR PICTURE FILES”.
Note:
• It is recommended USB flash drive is plugged when the unit is in STANDBY mode.
• It does not support USB harddisk mass storage device, multi-card reader and other USB computer
peripheral.
• It only supports USB flash drive (FAT32/16 max. capacity 32G bytes, video bitrate is 7Mbps).
• Make sure your USB flash drive or SD card is FAT16/FAT32 file system. All other file system will
not be supported.
USING SD CARD SLOT
You can connect a Secure Digital (SD) card (not included) to the memory card slot on the unit to play
DivX movies as well as picture files.
• Plug the SD card fully into the memory card slot on the unit until it clicks.
• Press SOURCE button to change to memory card mode. It reads the information of the SD card and
playing the picture and/or sound files.
For operation of playing files on the SD card, please refer to the section “PLAYING DivX®
VIDEO OR
PICTURE FILES”.
Note:
• It is recommended the SD card is plugged when the unit is in STANDBY mode.
• If the SD card is oriented incorrectly, it will not go fully into the slot. Do not apply force when
inserting the SD card.
• To remove the SD card, push the CD card into the slot and then slowly remove your finger, the lock
is released and the SD card is pushed out.
Title, Chapter and Tracks
• DVDs are divided into
“titles”
and
“chapters”
.
If the disc has more than one movie on it, each
movie would be a separate
“title”
.
“Chapters”
are
sections of titles.
• Audio CDs are divided into
“tracks”
. A
“track”
is
usually one song on an Audio CD.
Note:
Numbers identify each title, chapter, and track on a disc. Most discs have these numbers recorded on
them, but some do not.
