Description
Query the device identity information.
The response is four strings, separated
by commas. Almost every SCPI-like
instrument supports this command, so
it can be used by software to identify
the instrument. The firmware number
uses the major,minor,release format.
Changes to the release version are
small
bugfixes
or
changes
in
packaging and distribution. Changes
to the minor version may add features,
but will always maintain backwards
compatibility. Changes to the major
version
number
may
break
compatibility.
