The radio is now ready to use. At the telnet command prompt, enter the GPSDATA
command to view the GPS position received from another RF modem.
Remember, that from the factory, all
RF-7800W
modems are configured to simply
work. Plug in a POE-enabled Ethernet cable and connect a telnet client to port 23,
and the modems will communicate on the default channel.
7.1. Programming Channels and Frequencies
The
RF-7800W
modem has memory for up to 6 channels. In most applications,
only one channel is needed. A channel is a pair of frequencies, one for transmit
and one for receive. They may be different or they may be the same. You may
program any valid frequency into any channel number. To program a channel,
perform the following steps.
1.
Connect your telnet client to the modem’s port 23 and login using the ADMIN
role credentials.
2. Change to the channel you wish to program, using the
ATHP x
command,
where x is the channel number. The factory default is channel 1.
3. Program the frequency for this channel x, using the
ATFX
command. Note that
the frequency may be entered in MHz as long as you use a decimal point. For
Example, enter
ATFX 450.1
to set the channel frequency to 450.100MHz. \
4. Review the frequency setting with the
ATFX
command. To see a list of all of
the channels , enter
ATF
.
5. To change the radio channel, use the
ATHP
x
