Using AccuBoom™
To enable the AccuBoom Override:
1.
Touch this icon to display the AccuBoom Popup.
2.
Touch the Override button. AccuBoom section control will toggle all sections on for the number of seconds
displayed.
The On Override feature is useful when backing into corners during boundary spraying, to begin applying
product from a complete stop or to apply additional product to specific area of a field.
Note:
Touch the Next icon to quickly access the AccuBoom Configuration screen while a job is in
progress.
Section Selection
The section selection feature allows the operator to select which sections will be controlled by AccuBoom.
For example, if the machine has fence row nozzles which the operator wants to control manually, deselect the
corresponding sections on the Section Selection screen by removing the green check below the desired
sections. The vehicle’s individual section switches must be used to manually turn the fence row nozzles on or
off.
Note:
With the AccuBoom feature installed, the status of the boom sections may appear as follows:
•
Green - The boom section is currently on. AccuBoom will control this section if AccuBoom
control has been enabled and any section switches in the machine are in the on position.
•
Amber - The boom section is currently off, but AccuBoom control is enabled for the boom
section. AccuBoom has shut off this section due to coverage or spray-zone mapping.
•
White - The boom section is currently off and AccuBoom control is disabled for the section.
AccuBoom will not control this section automatically.
Aggressiveness Factor
The look-ahead values set the amount of time ahead of the vehicle (based on vehicle speed) which the field
computer will scan for zone boundaries or unapplied areas when turning boom sections on or off. By default,
AccuBoom overrides any additional zone boundaries detected until the look-ahead time has passed. For
example, if the turn-on look-ahead value is set to 5 seconds and AccuBoom detects an unapplied area 5
seconds ahead of a boom section, AccuBoom toggles that section on and will ignore subsequent commands
to turn that section off until the section has entered the unapplied area.
For sections at the end of larger booms or where sharp turns or aggressive maneuvering is necessary, this
override may cause unexpected skips in coverage. The aggressiveness factor uses the user defined look-
ahead values to adjust AccuBoom response for these driving styles and/or field areas requiring aggressive
