System Test Description
Screen Test Test that the display is working. RGB and a list of
supported colors should appear on the screen dur-
ing the test.
Key Backlight Test Test that the key backlight is working. All the keys
on the front panel except the softkeys (
M1 , M2 , M3 ,
M4 , M5 ) and Store Recall key should illuminate
during the test.
Beeper Test Test that the instrument sound is working. Three
beep sounds should be heard during the test.
Fan Test Test that the cooling fan is working.
5.7.6 Updating the Firmware
The latest firmware file can be found from the product homepage http://www.rohde-
schwarz.com/product/nge100b .
For firmware update using SCPI command, see "Firmware update via SCPI command
for version 1.3 and above" on page 57.
Do not power off or operate the instrument during a firmware update.
Do not rename the firmware filename
NGE100FWRelease.tar.gz.enc
and
NGE100FWRelease.fwp
.
1. Download the firmware file from the product homepage.
2. Unzip the firmware to the root directory of a USB flash drive.
There are two files after the unzip, do not rename these files.
3. Connect the USB flash drive to the USB port of the instrument and wait for ten sec-
onds.
4. Press Menu key.
The R&S NGE100B displays the main menu of the instrument. See Chapter 5.1.5,
"Menu" , on page 32.
5. Select "Utilities > Update" menu item.
If firmware file is found, the R&S NGE100B displays the "Update" dialog. See Fig-
ure 5-29 .
