Microsoft Windows requires that users identify themselves by entering a user
name and password in a login window. By default, the R&S
ESW provides two
user accounts:
●
"Instrument"
: an administrator account with unrestricted access to the com-
puter/domain
●
"NormalUser"
: a standard user account with limited access
Secure user mode
If the secure user mode option (R&S
ESW-K33) is installed, an additional
account is provided: the
"SecureUser"
.
The "SecureUser" is a standard user account with limited functionality. In
particular, administrative tasks such as LAN configuration or general instru-
ment settings are not available. Furthermore, for a "SecureUser", data that
the R&S
ESW normally stores on the solid-state drive is redirected to vola-
tile memory instead. You can access data that is stored in volatile memory
during the current instrument session. However, when the instrument’s
power is removed, all data in volatile memory is erased.
For details, see
Chapter 4.7, "Protecting Data Using the Secure User
Automatic login
For the administrator account, an automatic login function is active by default. If
activated, login is carried out automatically for the administrator (with full access)
in the background when the R&S
ESW is started, without having to enter a pass-
word. This function is active until you explicitly deactivate it or change the pass-
word.
For information on how to deactivate or reactivate the automatic login, refer to
Chapter 4.2.3.1, "Automatic Login Function"
