chapter 4.2.17, "RX Measurements "
9. Configure and start the measurement.
Order of steps
Measurements provided by the signaling application can also be initiated before turn-
ing on the forward signal. In that case the measurement starts as soon as the precon-
ditions for the measurement are fulfilled. A "RX Quality" measurement for instance
starts as soon as a suitable connection has been established.
4.2.3 End to End Packet Data Connections
To set up a WCDMA packet data connection you need the Data Application Unit (DAU)
in addition to the "CDMA2000 signaling" application. The DAU itself is available as
option R&S CMW-B450x and the DAU measurements as R&S CMW-KM050. For IPv4
option R&S CMW-KA100 is required, for IPv6 additionally option R&S CMW-KA150.
To set up an end to end packet data connection, proceed as follows:
1. Configure the IP settings of the DAU according to the DAU's user manual.
2. Select the packet data service option SO33, see
3. Configure the packet data parameters, see
chapter 4.3.8.5, "Packet Data Service"
4. Configure any other settings as desired (as for a connection without the DAU) and
switch on the cell signal.
5. Register / attach the MS, see
chapter 4.2.2, "Initiating Signaling Tests"
6. Initiate a mobile originated packet data connection at the MS.
It is not possible to initiate a mobile terminated packet data connection at the
instrument.
Please refer to the DAU user manual:
●
for configuration of the DAU, e.g. for initial configuration of the DAU IP settings;
●
for limitations, if more signaling instances use end to end connections in parallel.
When the packet data connection has been established, you can use the DAU to per-
form IP-based data tests.
You can also perform "RX Meas RLP", see
chapter 4.3.13.5, "RLP View (Tab)"
Or you can perform other measurements that do not require a DAU, e.g. TX measure-
ments.
