Setting up a Connection
An established connection to the AT is a prerequisite for all signaling tests, including
the combined signal path measurement described in this application sheet.
To set up a connection,
1. Preset your R&S
CMW to ensure a definite instrument state.
2. Connect your AT to the RF 1 COM connector.
3. Open the "1xEV-DO Signaling" application, e.g. from the task bar (press "TASKS"
to open the task bar).
If the application is not present in the task bar, enable it in the "Generator/Signaling
Controller" dialog (press "SIGNAL GEN" to open the dialog).
4. In the main view of the signaling application adjust the "Access Network Control"
settings to the capabilities of your AT.
The "Frequency" must be supported by the AT and the "1xEVDO Power" must be
sufficient.
While the main view displays the frequency of "Carrier [0]" only, settings of "Carrier
[1]" and “Carrier [2]" used in EV-DO Rev. B is to be done in the configuration dia-
log.
5. Press the "Config" hotkey to open the configuration dialog.
6. If Rev. B (options R&S CMW-KS881 for multicarrier) is to be used, configure
parameters in section "System" > "Carrier Configuration".
