Cat. No. 49-415
Your RadioShack Personal Alarm
quickly triggers when you press a but-
ton or remove the hand strap. It also
detects motion, so you can strategical-
ly place it where motion will trigger the
alarm sound and alert you or deter a
thief. It also has a built-in flashlight.
INSTALLING BATTERIES
Your personal alarm requires one 9-
volt battery to power the alarm and
two AA batteries to power the built-in
flashlight. We recommend alkaline
batteries, such as RadioShack Cat.
Nos. 23-553 and 23-552.
To install the batteries:
1. Gently press and push off the bat-
tery compartment cover.
2. Snap the 9-volt battery’s connec-
tor over the 9-volt terminals and
put the battery into the compart-
ment.
3. Place two AA batteries into the
compartment, matching the polar-
ity symbols (+ and –) marked
inside the compartment.
4. Replace the cover.
If the alarm’s sound or light weakens,
replace the batteries.
ALARM TRIGGERING
The alarm triggers when it detects mo-
tion, when you press a button, or
when you pull off the hand strap.
Motion Alarm
Place the alarm on a flat, stable sur-
face. Gently slide Light/Motion
Alarm to Motion Alarm. The indicator
lights for about 30 seconds. During
this period you can still change the
alarm’s location. After that, any motion
it detects will trigger the alarm.
The alarm sounds for about 20 sec-
onds, then it silences for about 3 sec-
onds and returns to a standby mode.
Any further motion will trigger the
alarm again.
To silence the alarm, slide Light/Mo-
tion Alarm to the middle or Light po-
sition.
