Pocket Tone Dialer

Your RadioShack Pocket Tone Dialer
lets you use computer-based services
(such as alternate long distance or
bank-by-phone) even if your phone
has a rotary dial or uses pulse dialing.

INSTALLING BATTERIES

Your tone dialer uses three AAA alka-
line batteries for power. We recom-
mend RadioShack batteries.

1. Set

ON/OFF

 to

OFF

.

2. Push open the battery compart-

ment cover in the direction of the
arrow.

3. Install fresh batteries as indicated

by the polarity symbols (+ and –)
marked in the compartment.

4. Replace the cover.

When the

POWER BATTERY LOW

 indi-

cator dims or goes off, or the tones’
volume weakens, replace the batter-
ies.

OPERATION

1. Place the dialer’s rubber ring against

the phone’s mouthpiece.

2. Set

ON/OFF

 to

ON

.

3. Dial the desired numbers on the

dialer’s keypad.

To use an alternate long distance ser-
vice (or other computer-based service)
from a rotary or pulse-dialing phone, use
the phone’s dial to call the service’s local
number, then use the tone dialer to com-
municate with the service’s computer.

Operating Tips

The dialer’s tones are strong enough to
activate most equipment, but they might
not work when using the dialer with older
telephones that have weak micro-
phones. In such cases, hold the tele-
phone’s handset vertically, with the
dialer’s rubber ring directly over the
mouthpiece.
