Figure 11 – J03 GB Ethernet Connection
The GRB-200 transmits the received data and status information via UDP over
a gigabit Ethernet connection. This interface is designed to use only static IP
addresses and to connect directly to a server used to process the received data.
It is also possible to connect the GRB-200 to a gigabit Ethernet switch and set
it to transmit multicast UDP messages to multiple servers simultaneously. In
any case, the GRB-200 should not be connected to a general purpose network
and should only be used with a direct connection to associated data processing
servers to ensure that packets are not lost.
Connect this to your server using an appropriate Cat 5e or Cat 6 cable intended
for use with gigabit Ethernet and configure your server to support gigabit
connectivity.
