2.2.6. Calibrate load weighing
To use the load weighing function, it is necessary to do a weighing calibration with the selected implement. The calibration
procedure is done by performing two calibration lifts. The first lift is done with a known weight in the implement and the
second lift is done with the implement empty.
Each implement used for weighing must be separately calibrated. The calibrations are stored in permanent memory.
For best accuracy, perform the calibration lifts in a similar manner as you will later work with the loader. Also consider the
following circumstances which may affect accuracy:
•
Operating temperature
-
Always allow the machine and
the hydraulics to warm up to the
normal operating temperature
before commencing load weighing.
•
Weighing on level ground
-
The tractor angle will affect the
center of gravity, hence also the
load weighing result. To achieve
the best accuracy, perform the load
weighing on level ground.
•
Vehicle movement
-
Weighing while the vehicle is
moving on uneven ground may
affect accuracy negatively.
•
Loader arm motion
-
Always use full deflection on
joystick
when weighing and
make sure the lifting motion is
smooth, to avoid oscillations in the
measured pressures.
-
For best accuracy,
the same
engine speed should be used for
the calibration- and the actual
load weighing lifts.
•
Implement angle
-
It is important
that the same
implement angle is used for both
the calibration lifts, as well as the
actual load weighing lifts.
The implement is calibrated for load weighing in the
Implement view
, by selecting the desired implement,
Weighing
calibrations
and then
New calibration
. You are guided through the calibration process. A new load weighing calibration will be
created for the selected implement.
For best accuracy, it is recommended that the known weight is equivalent to, or heavier than, the typical load that will be
weighed later.
An alternative is to use a known weight of >50% of the maximum capacity of the implement.
The minimum allowable known weight is 300 kg.
If the intent of a specific implement is to weigh the same kind of loads, with approximately the same weight, the accuracy may
increase if the known load, used during calibration, weighs as the intended loads.
Tip!
If the same implement is used together with different materials, which require different handling, you can create separate
weighing calibrations for that implement.
