5.6. Connection to a Bus Master
You have read on the previous pages how to control the delivery, adjust jumpers &
switches and connect the power supply. Now your PiXtend eIO can be used.
The PiXtend eIO devices (slaves) are always operated in conjunction with a so-called bus
master, which sends data to and polls the slave devices. Many different devices can
perform the tasks of a bus master.
In the following we show you in detail two possible configurations:
1. PiXtend V2 -L- as master
2. PC with USB-RS485 dongle as master
At the end of this section, you will have prepared the devices to the extent that initial
testing with appropriate software is the next step. At this point, commissioning continues in
the software manual of PiXtend eIO.
If you have problems during commissioning, you will find solutions in chapter 5.7 from
page 67 onwards.
