5. Startup
This chapter describes step by step all the steps required to get your PiXtend eIO up and
running. Please read the entire chapter first and observe the associated connection
instructions in chapter 6

PiXtend eIO system.
From section 5.1 you will find information about the jumpers and switches on PiXtend eIO.
You configure your PiXtend eIO board with just a few simple steps. If necessary, a suitable
protective conductor connection is attached to the device in section 5.3.
After the preliminary work, your PiXtend eIO system is ready to go and can be connected
to a suitable power supply (section 5.4). Here are some important tips for correct and safe
connection.
Finally, two examples show how PiXtend eIO devices are connected to the bus master
(section 5.6). So you are - from a hardware point of view - just before the first test run.
The additional section 5.7 gives you troubleshooting tips if something does not work as
expected.
