TIMTER™ Multi-mode Digital Telemetry Transmitter

If Clock Free is enabled, and the bit rate is set to Auto:
1>BBCK
BB clock rate = 7.699997 Mbps, src = CF Data (bit rate determined based on the input stream)
If Clock Free is disabled, and the bit rate is set to anything (doesn’t matter since CF is disabled):
1>BBCK
BB clock rate = 7.699997 Mbps, src = Ext Clk (external clock)
For details about specific commands, refer to AC, BR, CF, or IC.
Also refer to Appendix C – Understanding Clock/Data, AC, and BR.
4.2.1.1.3 Clock Free Bit Rate
– BR
The Clock Free Bit Rate is the bit rate used when the Clock Free (CF) option is specified and internal transmitter
clock is in use. The BR command reports the bit rate. It also allows the user to set the hard bit rate on a clock free
transmitter, or set the clock free bit rate to Automatic.
When set to Automatic, the internal transmitter logic determines the correct bit rate from the input data stream. For
Automatic to work, the input data stream must be sufficiently randomized. The bit rate must be below 35 Mbps to
use automatic bit rate detection.
Do not confuse the BR command with “IC”, which sets the rate of the internally generated clock.
Syntax: BR [A / rate]
where A is:
Automatic
where rate is:
A bit rate in Mbps that matches the input data rate
Examples:
BR
Report the bit rate
BR 5
Set the clock free bit rate to 5 Mbps fixed
BR A
Set the clock free bit rate automatically
BR A D
Set the clock free bit rate mode to Auto and Disable warning
BR A E
Set the clock free bit rate mode to Auto and Enable warning
Suppose this sequence of commands are issued:
1>BR A
CF Bitrate Mode set to Auto
