QU-AX Q-handle
Assembly instructions for Q-handle
First, make sure to identify the components of the Q-handle:
(1) H-Bar
(2) U-bar
(3) Stem
(4) Shims
(7) Grip Foam for (2)
Open the front clamp by opening both screws on the stem (3) and taking off the
top-cap. Insert the H-Bar (1) like on (6), screw the two screws back in. Make sure
both screws are equally tightened, the gaps should have the same size on both sides
between stem and cap. You can adjust the angle later. Now slip over the foam - take
hair-spray to mount it.
Then insert the U-Bar (5). Adjust the angle as you like, you can still readjust it on the
unicycle later.
Now, you have to choose where to mount it on the unicycle. Depending on where on
the unicycle and depending on what frame is used, you have to use a different shim.
There are 5 possibilities:
a)
no shim:
Mount the stem directly on a QX-series alloy-frames or Kris Holm frame for example.
Or on any other tube with a diameter of 31.8 mm
b)
shim reducing from 31.8 to 28.6:
To mount the stem directly on a QU-AX steel frame or any other frame or seat-tube with
an outer diameter of 28.6 mm.
c)
shim reducing from 31.8 to 27.2:
To mount directly on KH or impact-seatposts for example. Or on any
other seatpost with an outer diameter of 27.2 mm.
d)
shim reducing from 31.8 to 25.4:
To mount directly on QU-AX seatposts or any other seatpost with an outer diameter of
25.4.
e)
shim reducing from 31.8 to 22.2:
To mount directly on 22.2 mm seatposts.
