Dual Path (MPIO) Deployment
The following images illustrate some examples of deployment types for dual controller
XCubeFAS series. MPIO (Multipath I/O) configurations are designed to provide HA (High
Availability) data connections to ensure data consistency in the rare event of a failure in the
host connectivity from a single path.
One Server / One HBA / Two Switches / One XCubeFAS / Dual Path
The following figure shows an example of a dual controller, connect enclosure configuration
with one server accessing the storage via switches. One server is connected to a dual controller
XCubeFAS series using CAT 6 network cables.

One Server / One HBA / One XCubeFAS 2026D/ One XCubeDAS / Dual Path
The following figure shows an example of a dual controller, connect enclosure configuration
with one server accessing the storage. One server is connected to a dual controller XCubeFAS
2026D using CAT 6 network cables. And a dual controller XCubeFAS 2026D connected to a dual
controller XCubeDAS XD5300 series using mini SAS HD to mini SAS HD cable (SAS 12G expansion
cable with Wake-on-SAS, SFF-8644 to SFF-8644).
