Discover and Carry Out the System

After powering on the system, the next step is to discover the system on the network and start
the initial configuration. To discover the system, please download the

utility. This will

hunt the network for your new system and allow you to access it via the XEVO GUI. For more
information about discovering your system and the initial configuration, please refer to the
chapter 3, Getting Started in the

XCubeFAS XEVO Software Manual

3.9.

Powering OFF the System

To power off the system, stop all I/O from all hosts to the system. There are two ways to shut
down the system, as outlined below.

1.

It is recommended to shut down the system through XEVO UI. The system will flush all dirty
data from the memory to the disk drive to ensure data integrity.

Press and hold the power button for 4 seconds. This is a forced shutdown, unless the first
method does not work.
