Secondary DNS Server
Specify a secondary DNS server for the DHCP
server.
Important
QNAP recommends specifying at least
one DNS server to allow URL lookups.
WINS Server
Specify the WINS server IP address.
Tip
Windows Internet Naming Service
(WINS) converts computer names
(NetBIOS names) to IP addresses,
allowing Windows computers on a
network to easily find and communicate
with each other.
DNS Suffix
Specify the DNS suffix.
Tip
The DNS suffix is used for resolving
unqualified or incomplete host names.
TFTP Server
Specify the public IP address for the TFTP server.

booting of devices.
Boot File
Specify location and file name of the TFTP server
boot file.

DHCP Clients
A DHCP client is a network device using DHCP service to obtain network cofiguration parameters such as an
IP address from a DHCP server. When a DHCP client sends a broadcast message to locate a DHCP server,
the DHCP server provides configuration parameters (IP address, MAC address, domain name, and a lease
for the IP address) to the client.
Physical Adapter DHCP Client
Enabling a DHCP IPv4 address allows the device to automatically acquire an IPv4 address for a specific
physical adapter from a DHCP server. The physical adapter is assigned an IP address by the DHCP server
for a predefined lease time.
