Testing the Scanner
The scanner automatically performs a self-test each time it is turned
on. To verify that the scanner is working correctly after it has been
installed, turn on the power. If the following sequence of events
occurs, the scanner is working:

The Option, Ready, and Power LEDs flash once.
2
The Power LED glows steadily and the Ready LED blinks.
3
The Power and Ready LEDs glow steadily.
