TYPICAL APPLICATION
A typical use of the 6PTM2 is to connect a peripheral device (modem, printer, etc.) to the
serial ports of two redundant terminal servers (DECServers) in a TDMS-2000 Master Station
System.

EXPANDING AN EXISTING PTP ASSEMBLY
This section outlines the steps necessary to expand an existing Peripheral Transfer Panel
(PTP) Assembly.
There are three basic steps that need to be accomplished when expanding an existing PTP
Assembly.
1. Using the hardware provided in the PTP expansion kit, mount the Peripheral Transfer
Module(s).
2. Install the Peripheral Transfer Panel Extender Cable Assembly by:
Removing the 12VDC power plug (male) on the last existing PT Module and reconnect it
to the female connector on the expander cable.
Insert the 12VDC power plugs of the expander cable in to the last existing PT Module and
all the newly added PT Modules.
3. Make the required RS232 port connections via the RJ-45 jacks to their associated
peripheral devices.
