TESTER

GENERAL  DESCRIPTION

This unique tester has been designed 
specifically for testing the BreakGlass 

detector.

By  simulating the sound of breaking

 glass the Breakglass Tester offers 

a way of correcting the sensitivity

 of the Breakglass  detector ensuring

 good detection and performance 

at all times.

OPERATIONAL SWITCHES

OFF - 

Tester switched off.

NORMAL 

- Press the trigger when in normal mode to   

                   

Generate a loud breaking glass sound.

FLEX -

 In Flex mode, pressing the trigger arms the unit.   

           

 To create a flex condition thump the protected 

            glass in a controlled manner. 
            This will cause the Breakglass Tester to 
            generate a breaking glass sound.      
 

TRIGGER -

 Creates glass break sound.  

TEST PROCEDURE

Step 1 - 

Take the cover off the detector and place in test mode.

Step 2 - 

Set sensitivity to minimum.

Step 3 - 

Place the tester next to the window, which is to be protected.

Step 4 - 

Switch the tester into flex mode.

Step 5 - 

Arm the tester by pressing the trigger button.

Step 6

 - Thump the glass lightly to simulate object hitting the window.

Step 7

 - When the Tester simulates breaking glass check all the LED

              indicators on the Breakglass detector.
              The indicators will illuminate in the following order indicating 
              a good activation. (Green, Orange and Red)

Step 8

 - Adjust the sensitivity as required to gain the best LED indication.

              (After sensitivity adjustment re-test)
              

Step 9

 - Replace cover on detector.

LOUD NOISE

SAFETY           

The Breakglass tester produces loud sounds, always direct the tester away from the ear
when in use.
