The hopper is equipped with a hydraulically driven agitator. The
agitator performs two functions:
− it improves the filling rate of the delivery cylinders;
− it mixes the concrete.

The filling rate in the delivery cylinders should be as high as possible
when pumping. This is achieved by having the agitator helix mix to
wards the delivery cylinders.
The concrete should be mixed following reverse pumping from the
delivery line into the hopper. This is achieved by having the agitator
helix mix away from the delivery cylinders.
